Customers, suppliers and staff helped The Cullimore Group, a Gloucestershire, West England-based family-owned aggregates company, celebrate its 90th year in business. A spectrum of liveried trucks from yesteryear and brand new additions to the Cullimore Group’s 40-strong fleet of trucks were showcased for people to view in the grounds of The Whitminster Inn during the 90th anniversary events on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 September.
Customers, suppliers and staff helped The Cullimore Group, a Gloucestershire, West England-based family-owned aggregates company, celebrate its 90th year in business.
A spectrum of liveried trucks from yesteryear and brand new additions to the Cullimore Group’s 40-strong fleet of trucks were showcased for people to view in the grounds of The Whitminster Inn during the 90th anniversary events on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 September. The celebrations culminated in fine food served to the accompaniment of Somerset-based band Funkty Dumpty within a giant luxury marquee. Around 350 people attended what were two highly successful evenings.
Moreton Cullimore, managing director at The Cullimore Group, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people at both our staff evening on 1st September and main event on 2nd September. We felt very honoured to be in everyone’s company, and hope that all who attended enjoyed themselves.
“Our business has been passed down through three generations, from my grandfather to my father to me. This personal family philosophy is something we maintain at all times, all the while providing a professional, modern outlook to our customers. It is this backbone that has proved vital to the continuing success of our business, and is the reason that our staff, suppliers and customers stay with us for a very long time. Here’s to the next 90 years!”
The Cullimore Group is very proud of its history, from the original purchase of a second-hand truck by Moreton C. Cullimore that transported milk, produce and livestock from his farm to local markets in the Gloucestershire area that started it all off, to the multi-million-pound business it is today. Throughout the years, the ethos of the Group has always been to provide the local communities with bulked and bagged aggregates, ready mixed concrete and recycled aggregates all the while embracing new practices, standards and technologies but not at the sacrifice of respecting and remembering the past.
For a further opportunity to meet with Moreton Cullimore and the team, The Cullimore Group will have a stand at the Frampton Country Fair, at which it is the main show sponsor, on Saturday, 10 September. The fair is held in 30 acres of parkland within the Frampton Country Estate, and is one of the largest traditional country fairs in the UK.
