DRAP, the coffee table designed by Paolo Ulian for Silvestri Marmi & Co, exhibited in The Italian Stone Theatre as part of the Territory & Design show at Marmomacc, has won the Icon Award.
The project will become the main theme in the new Marmomac 2018 communications campaign for the event, which will be held in Verona, Italy (26-29 September 2018).
The jury had the task of selecting the work whose aesthetic impact and symbolic value was the most representative of those highlighted in The Italian Stone Theatre at Marmomacc 2017, the leading global event for the natural stone industry.
The Icon Award was made to DRAP for the following reasons: “For the ability to turn a defect arising from mechanical processing into an aesthetic quality, thereby making the project truly iconic. Zebrino marble here takes on unparalleled lightness similar to drapery and very significant aesthetics that to ensure a variety of applications thanks to impressive versatility. The work harmoniously combines creativity, innovation, craftsmanship and design in a delightful combination that highlights Made in Italythrough absolute excellence.”
The Italian Stone Theatre is the hall created by Marmomac in collaboration with MISE (Ministry for Economic Development), ICE-Italian Trade Agency and Confindustria Marmomacchine within the scope of the Special Made in Italy Promotion Plan.
