The global earthmoving machinery market can expect to start its sales recovery in 2016 and consolidate in 2017, with total sales of 880,000 units, up 33% compared to estimated results for 2015, according to new forecasts presented by Veronafire at SaMoTer Day, a new SaMoTer-Veronafiere event organised in collaboration with Prometeia.
Veronafiere also see a favourable trend over the next two years for Italy’s own earthmoving machinery sector which, following its collapse in 2007 (-72% compared to 2006), seeks to close 2017 with 12,400 unit sales – up 44.8% over the performance in 2015.
SaMoTer Day is a training and guidance event focused on opportunities and trends in the building and construction machinery market in Italy and worldwide.
The initiative is one of the run-up events to the 30th edition of SaMoTer (22-25 February 2017) – Veronafiere’s triennial show dedicated to the construction equipment sector held in conjunction with Asphaltica, the bitumen and road infrastructure event organised together with Siteb (Italian Bitumen, Asphalt and Road-Building Association), and Transpotec Logitec, the road transport and logistics appointment by Fiera Milano.

The 2017 edition of SaMoTer, in addition to its exhibition and commercial aspects, will also focus on the management and prevention of environmental emergencies, with thematic focus meetings dealing with land consolidation sites and the Italian government’s #italiasicura plan, which envisages investments of over €7 billion and 3,500 different projects.
The Inaugural Conference of SaMoTer Day saw the CEO & director general of Veronafiere joined by Michele Turrini, president of Siteb, Giuseppe Garri, Transpotec Logitec exhibition manager, and Roberto Paoluzzi, director of Cnr-Imamoter (National Research Council Institute).
