Ecocem, a major European provider of low-carbon cement technologies, has appointed Ghizlane Ruf as its Chief of Staff. She will play a pivotal role in driving Ecocem’s growth by working with its senior executives to prioritise strategic business decisions and enhance team efficiency.

Ghizlane brings to Ecocem her extensive ex https://www.ecocemglobal.com/en-gb/perience within the cement and concrete industries, following her previous role at Lafarge Cement – the world’s largest cement manufacturer.

Reporting to Conor O’Riain, European Managing Director, Ghizlane is responsible for ensuring that senior executives are supported in their efforts to deliver on Ecocem’s goals and initiatives. Her appointment comes at an important time for the growth and development of the business. Ecocem’s groundbreaking scalable technology, ACT, capable of decarbonising emissions from cement by 70%, has recently received an ETA (European Technical Assessment). The business is now focussed on delivering ACT commercially in all its markets by 2026. Specifically, Ghizlane will work with the executive to deliver the key strategic projects which are essential to successful commercial delivery of ACT.

Ghizlane Ruf, Chief of Staff at Ecocem, said: “These are challenging times for the cement industry as it works to drive down emissions. Joining Ecocem gives me the perfect opportunity to contribute to achieving its mission and help the industry cut carbon at speed. The next few years will be crucial for the business as we gear up to commercialise ACT,  our scalable low-carbon technology. This is a rare opportunity to make a real difference to our industry and our world”.

Conor O’Riain, Managing Director at Ecocem, said: “Thanks to our ACT technology, we now have a significant opportunity, and the next few years are critical – not just for our business but also for the cement industry as a whole. Our work to commercialise ACT and further develop low-carbon cement technologies has a significant role to play in combatting cement’s carbon challenge. It’s the perfect time to welcome Ghizlane to the business and for us to benefit from her skills and energy.”
