Epiroc has launched a new assortment of bolting bits to boost efficiency and reliability in rock drilling operations. With innovations like Trubbnos button technology, these tools deliver longer service life, higher Rate of Penetration (ROP), and lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

The Trubbnos button design, with its distinctive trapezoid shape, provides a larger rock contact surface and greater wear volume compared to traditional semi-ballistic buttons. This translates to longer intervals between regrinds while maintaining consistent drilling performance.

“Our new bolting bits deliver practical benefits that align with the needs of our customers,” says Fredrik Gransell, Head of Strategic Marketing, tophammer drilling tools. “They are built to improve productivity while reducing operational costs, making them an excellent choice for demanding applications.”

Three main benefits of the new bolting bits:

Longer service life
Enhanced durability ensures the bit diameter remains consistent, which is crucial for bolting operations
Higher Rate of Penetration (ROP)
Optimised button designs and a new flushing system contribute to faster and more efficient drilling by quickly removing rock debris
Lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
Increased productivity and reduced maintenance requirements result in tangible cost savings

The new rock drilling tools also feature a strengthened steel bit body with higher fatigue resistance and advanced carbide grades for improved wear resistance. The redesigned flushing system further enhances performance by reducing wear and ensuring smoother drilling operations.

Epiroc’s new bolting tools are available for R and SR drill strings, offering compatibility across drill strings. For more information, contact your local Epiroc representative or visit epiroc.com.
