Epiroc has appointed Ulrika Areskog Lilja as senior vice president brand & communications, and Katarina Nilsson as senior vice president people & leadership.
Drill rigs, rock excavation machinery and construction tools company Epiroc says they will join its group management and will succeed Nadim Penser, senior vice president brand & communications and human resources, who is retiring after almost 35 years at Epiroc.
Ulrika Areskog Lilja will take up her position on November 2, 2026. She has extensive experience leading brand and communications as part of executive leadership teams in large global market-leading companies. Most recently she served as head of brand, marketing and communications at the bank SEB, and previously she served in senior roles at forest industry company Stora Enso and steelmaker SSAB.
Katarina Nilsson will serve as SVP people & leadership starting on September 1, 2026. She currently serves as vice president people, leadership & SHEQ at Epiroc’s Underground division, and has been with the group since 2023. She also has extensive experience from executive teams in global market-leading companies, serving in legal and human resources roles, and has worked in China for a decade.
Before joining Epiroc her roles included serving as general counsel at battery manufacturer Northvolt, and as General Counsel at forest industry company SCA.

With these changes, Epiroc is expanding its group management team from six to seven members.
