Erkat, a leading manufacturer of rock-cutting excavator attachments, is proudly celebrating its 25th anniversary, marking a quarter-century of innovation, originality, and commitment to excellence—made in Thuringia, Germany.

All main Erkat product components are manufactured in Germany, ensuring that the company’s range is robust and reliable, while meeting the highest quality standards.

Erkat’s models, including patent pending V-shaped V-Cutters, ER and ERC transverse drum cutters, ERL axial drum cutters, and ADU auger drills, offer smart solutions for applications such as tunneling, quarrying, demolition, trenching and many more. The company’s drum cutters use a low-energy method of impact, resulting in low noise and vibration.

Benefits of using a drum cutter:

–Low vibration: Safe application in sensitive urban or industrial areas

– Low noise: ideal for areas where noise is an issue and other attachment tools are not allowed

– High production rates: perfect for soft rock excavation and demolition, outperforming other attachment tools

– Small grain size: cut material has a grain size small enough to be used for backfilling

– High return on investment: accurate removal of material, no transportation and secondary crushing of broken material, and high productivity allow contractors to achieve a high return on their investment

Erkat’s drum cutters have proven their versatility and reliability in challenging environments. Notable achievements include the deepest bath taken by an ER drum cutter, reaching about 150 meters deep in offshore applications in Newfoundland, Canada, and operating at the highest job site in Tibet, working at an altitude of around 3000 meters.

Martina Schierholz, Senior Operations Manager at Erkat, said: “Celebrating 25 years of being a cut above the rest is a testament to our team’s dedication and our commitment to innovation and quality. We are proud of our journey and excited for the future as we continue to lead the industry with our cutting-edge solutions.”
