With 3,661 lots for auction, Euro Auctions says it was another record with the hammer price the highest ever at a Leeds sale, being 5% up on the previous high of May, 2008.
“With the used plant market showing no signs of slowing down, the recent Leeds sale was hotly anticipated and registered bidders were again the highest, in fact up by over 20% since the last Leeds sale in June 2011,” says the company.
A total of 1,194 bidders registered for the sale from over 56 countries, and online bidding accounted for over 22% of the sales with 55% of equipment leaving the UK to overseas buyers.
Top buying countries were the UK (42% of total sales); Netherlands (9%); Poland (8%); Ireland (7%), and Germany (5%).
Interest was also show by buyers from the USA, Australia, United Arab Emirates, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Lebanon.
