Euro Auctions saw higher turn-outs, brisk trading and strong prices achieved at its recent three-day auction in Leeds, northern England, where 3,559 lots realised a total hammer price of over £28 million (€31.45 million).

The company says that the high quality of equipment together with a strong Euro and a record 1,800+ bidders registering (7% of whom were first time buyers with a large proportion of the total coming from overseas) resulted in a bumper sale.

A high proportion of the lots sold went to Mainland Europe and North America with the Middle East also proving a popular destination with almost 5% of all purchases destined to be shipped there to meet ongoing requirements from within this buoyant sector.

“Average prices achieved per lot were over 16.5% higher with a high quality field of equipment in the auction from some of the best known operators in the business consigning equipment,” says Jonnie Keys of Euro Auctions.

The stand-out lot of the auction was said to be a 2012 Cat 825H compactor, which achieved £235,000 (€264,000).

As this event closed, pre-registrations for the next three-day auction in Leeds between 23-25 November were already “flooding in.”

Other upcoming Euro Auctions sales include one in Dromore in Ireland on 4-5 November and in Zaragoza, Spain on 22 November.

The first sales in 2017 comprise Leeds on 25-27 January; Dormagen, Germany on 8-9h February, and in Brisbane, Australia, on 23 February.
