Danish industrial firm FLSmidth has posted a record high pre-tax profit of €292million (DKK2.17billion) for 2011. Turnover increased by 9% to DKK21,998million, and the earnings before income tax (EBIT) margin was for the fifth consecutive year between 9 and 10%.

Turnover increased by 9% to DKK21,998million, and the earnings before income tax (EBIT) margin was for the fifth consecutive year between 9 and 10%.
The positive results are attributed by FLSmidth to favourable development of the market for division Minerals, and good performance of the Cement division.
The fourth quarter was said by the company to be particularly strong, with pre-tax profit rising to DKK842million from DKK512million for the same period in 2010. Meanwhile, EBIT improved to DKK870million from DKK536million, and turnover was up to DKK7,286million from DKK5,520million. Order inflow in the period totalled DKK5,856million, compared with DKK4,428million in Q4 2010.
