Danish-based FLSmidth has been awarded two contracts for the construction of cement plants in Central America.
The contracts, for a greenfield plant and a brownfield plant, are with one unidentified client in the region and worth a combined total of over €250million. Both contracts include design and engineering, equipment supply, automation systems, training as well as advisory services for installation and commissioning.
The two plants will each mainly supply cement to their local markets in Central America. The expected start-up is within 24 to 36 months and once operational, the greenfield plant will have a capacity of 2,000tonnes/day and the brownfield plant of 3,500tonnes/day.
