The Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) has appointed Diana Casey as cement and ESG director and Stephanie Mackrell as head of communications. Both roles will be based in the London, UK office and are effective immediately.
Casey joins the organisation from the Mineral Products Association (MPA), where she has worked for over 15 years, most recently as the Executive Director for cement, lime, energy and climate change.

She is a key figure within the UK materials industry, and her leadership and expertise in decarbonisation as well as a range of other priority issues within the cement and concrete sectors will be invaluable on the global stage as we continue our mission to build a more resilient and sustainable world.”
Casey commented: “Cement and concrete are the world’s essential building materials. I’m greatly looking forward to representing this amazing industry – working with our members, who operate in just about every country of the world, as well as with a range of key organisations who help support our mission through delivering the crucial enabling policies and financial framework we need to move decisively forwards.”
Over the course of her time with MPA, Casey has engaged with a wide range of stakeholders from Government Ministers to media and the general public, and has advised members on standards and policies relating to sustainability and decarbonisation. She has also successfully applied for millions of pounds of funding for innovation projects including the world’s first trial producing cement using hydrogen, and led the development of publications showcasing the UK cement industry.
With over 20 years’ experience across the financial and sustainability sectors, Mackrell joins the GCCA having driven integrated communications campaigns internationally for a range of companies and organisations including Deutsche Bank, Climate Group, Weber Shandwick, World Gold Council, Teneo and most recently Arrow Resources.
