PT Gunung Raja Paksi (GRP) has revealed a range of new steel products targeting the global infrastructure, manufacturing, and construction sectors.

The new Fortise and Fortise+ leverages GRP’s expertise as one of the largest private steel manufacturers in Indonesia. The new products support the sector’s needs for flexibility to have “responsible” options that are competitive on price, sustainability and end-use needs.

GRP described Fortise as a “high-quality yet affordable suite of steel products”. Fortise is produced by Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) powered by on-site rooftop solar panels using scrap-based raw materials. According to the company, Fortise is suited to general structural applications, including residential and commercial construction, bridges, and automotive and light machinery.

Fortise+ is designed as the premium option which meets industry targets including Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification and Green Label Indonesia. GRP described Fortise+ as being suited to demanding structures like high rise buildings, ships, offshore wind turbines, and industrial grade piping.

GRP president director Fedaus Fedaus said Fortise and Fortise+ helps enable the circular and low-carbon economy to become viable in key industrial sectors.

“After years of refining our low-carbon steel outputs, we are proud to launch Fortise and Fortise+ as leading portfolios of sustainable steel products tailored to the growing environmental, energy-efficiency and durability needs of our end-use customers,” he said.

“With these new product lines, we are answering calls from global markets to deliver low-impact, high-quality steel products while positioning Indonesia as a preferred supplier in this space.”
