Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) has relaunched its corporate website presence under a new URL, www.hitachicm.eu, to replace the former site.

The company says it is more than just a name change though, a complete redesign and rebuild provides visitors with the “ultimate online construction machinery experience.”

The company says that asa result, the industry at large can view the high-quality Hitachi model line-up using the latest advanced technology in keeping with HCME’s overall aim of developing close links with its authorised dealer network and vast customer base.

The new website is said to offer ease of use and accessibility to the information that people require with an appropriate level of entertainment and interactivity that this medium demands.

“There has been no compromise in this respect with quick and easy access to enhanced sections covering the Hitachi model range and associated services, in addition to some dynamic new features. These include used equipment, a machine comparison tool and media library, as well as increased prominence for the dealer locator, careers and Support Chain sections,” says HCME.

HCME had already announced a strategic partnership with Mascus, the online marketplace for buying and selling used construction machinery, earlier this year and the new website highlights the first of a series of joint remarketing tools. The used equipment page will be of direct benefit to Hitachi’s European dealers, who will be able to manage their stock of high-quality used machines and present in a new showroom window for Hitachi customers to view 24/7.

The machine comparison is another invaluable tool to help in the initial stages of the decision-making process between different Hitachi models. After selecting at least two excavators, wheeled loaders or other products from the wide range on offer, the viewer can see an instantaneous summary of the specifications, such as the engine rated power, operating weight and bucket size, in a user-friendly table format.

The media library offers a wide range of images, videos and brochures available to download. Other interactive features highlight Hitachi’s social media channels, job opportunities and how to find and contact any one of more than 40 authorised dealers across Europe and Africa, who represent over 50 countries.

“The driving force behind HCME’s new-look website was to replicate the look and feel of HCM’s (Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd.) global site,” says HCME’s President Makoto Yamazawa.

“Having achieved this, our digital team has then focused on the needs of our European dealers and customers, such as the dynamic content, the creation of a one-stop information centre, and an enjoyable and easy viewing experience.

“All of this has resulted in an incredibly user friendly, informative and fun online resource, which is adaptable to the needs of everyone from existing Hitachi owners to those visitors experiencing our brand for the first time. Some of the more subtle elements have also contributed to this, such as larger images and the tone of voice used throughout.”
