Heidelberg Materials has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its 91% majority stake in Cimenterie de Lukala SA, a cement manufacturer in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), to WIH Cement Developing Company Limited. The transaction comprises an integrated cement plant in Lukala, near the capital city of Kinshasa.
The financial terms of the transaction are confidential. It is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in 2025.
Heidelberg Materials’ divestment of its business in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is part of its ongoing portfolio optimisation, which focuses on strengthening its strongest market positions.
