Hitachi ZH210LC-5 hybrid wins Spanish accolade

The Hitachi ZH210LC-5 hybrid excavator has been named the best construction machine at the Potencia Awards in Madrid in the category Earthmoving with Crawler Excavators. The event is organised by Spanish trade magazine Potencia and publisher TPI, to recognise construction projects and the technology incorporated by manufacturers into their equipment. The judges of the award included managers from rental companies (Alco Grupo) and related associations (SEOPAN, ASEMAQ, ANAPAT), as well as fleet managers

The Hitachi ZH210LC-5 hybrid excavator has been named the best construction machine at the Potencia Awards in Madrid in the category Earthmoving with Crawler Excavators.

The event is organised by Spanish trade magazine Potencia and publisher TPI, to recognise construction projects and the technology incorporated by manufacturers into their equipment.

The judges of the award included managers from rental companies (Alco Grupo) and related associations (SEOPAN, ASEMAQ, ANAPAT), as well as fleet managers from the major contractors in Spain ( Acciona, Dragados, FCC, Ferrovial Agroman, OHL and Sacyr).

The hybrid excavator was entered for the award by Hispano Japonesa de Maquinaria (HJM), the Hitachi dealer in Spain.

“We were convinced that the machine’s concept of practical hybrid excavator would be appreciated by the judges in this category,” said Mark Benfield, HJM’s product and marketing manager.

The Hitachi ZH210LC-5 hybrid model incorporates the TRIAS-HX hydraulic system that combines hydraulic, electrical and battery technology to achieve a high hydraulic efficiency, and can reduce fuel consumption by 15% compared to the conventional model.

“We would like to thank the TPI group and the judging panel for recognising the Hitachi ZH210LC-5 hybrid excavator in this way,” said Mark.

“We are confident that in the future we will obtain the same recognition for other products distributed by our company.”
