Holcim has sold its 58.6% stake in Bamburi Cement, a Kenya-based industry major, to Amsons Group for over US$100 million.
The sale advances the Swiss global building materials giant’s strategy to consolidate its leadership in core markets as the world leader in innovative and sustainable building solutions.
Holcim said Amsons Group is best positioned to develop Bamburi Cement in Kenya long-term.
With net sales of CHF 27bn in 2023 ($30.04bn) and an employer of 63,000 people globally, Holcim partners with its customers to offer the broadest range of advanced solutions, from sustainable building materials ECOPact and ECOPlanet to its circular technology ECOCycle to Elevate’s advanced roofing and insulation systems.
