Holcim UK will conduct a national roll out of clean fuel technology in collaboration with Fuelre4m.
The project will include more than 200 sites across the UK. Re4mx will be supplied via pre-measured containers for use in on-site fuel systems across these locations under the agreement. Holcim UK has said it will integrate cleaner combustion into daily operations.
Holcim UK supply chain director Edern Lalanne said this was the first time a project of this type had been applied to the UK construction and quarrying sectors.
“This agreement is the result of meticulous testing, collaboration, and operational learning. We have seen consistent results with Re4mx across a wide range of use cases, and it aligns directly with our commitment to sustainable innovation and operational excellence,” he said.
“This is about measurable outcomes, not promises, and Fuelre4m has delivered both the data and the support to back it up. This is part of our mission to make sustainable construction a reality and continues our journey to achieve net-zero by 2050. The introduction of low carbon fuels is a key part of this strategy.”
Extensive testing
The official announcement comes after three years of testing with results showing improved efficiency across Holcim’s UK operations.
Data monitoring tools were used to track and record the data from the test period. The testing focused on ensuring that it reflected proper working conditions.
Throughout the extensive trials, Re4mx demonstrated a 15 per cent to 20 per cent decrease in fuel usage, up to 23 per cent fewer emissions burned and lower exhaust temperatures.
Fuelre4m is increasing production in line with the roll-out. Holcim’s network will receive Re4mx through site-by-site distribution.
The two organisations are also working on digital infrastructure to support the project. This includes artificial intelligence-dashboard which will monitor real-time data to ensure traceability and accountability.
Fuelre4m’s Re4mx solution is currently available in Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region.
Fuelre4m Group chief executive officer Rob Mortimer welcomed the announcement.
“We are proud to formalise our partnership with Holcim UK after more than three years of on-the-ground testing,” he said.
“This contract is not just about supplying product, it is about delivering integrated solutions.
“From inventory management and digital oversight to emissions tracking and site-level service, our focus is practical decarbonisation with immediate operational impact. Holcim has set a clear benchmark for commitment and leadership in this space.”
