Hydrema, the Danish owned, earthmoving equipment manufacturer, is celebrating 30 years of business in the UK from its base in Ripon, North Yorkshire, England.

Established in 1985, Hydrema (UK) Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hydrema A/S Denmark and has been supplying high quality earth moving equipment to plant hirers and contractors nationwide for the past three decades.

With a product range that includes a selection of wheeled excavators, articulated backhoe loaders and specialist vehicles for military applications – it is the popular articulated dumper trucks (ADTs) that Hydrema is most widely known for in the UK.

Tim Wadsworth, the UK sales director, is proud of his long association with the company and credits Hydrema UK with bringing compact ADT’s to the UK market.

He said: “We pioneered the compact articulated dump truck market in the 1980’s and the 912 is now globally the most widely sold (ADT) in its class.

“We’ve always offered something different and work hard to maintain the levels of service and support and communication expected by our customers.”

Knowing the ins and outs of the off-road dump truck market has been essential to the 30-year success. Hydrema compact ADTs are said to be designed for use where space is limited, or where terrain is soft and low ground pressure is needed to prevent damage to the surface. The 912 are known for their robustness and ease of use, making them great for contractors and plant hire alike.

In recent years Hydrema has offered chassis cab versions of the 912 and 922D articulated dump truck, to work in other applications.

Wadsworth added: “We’re always looking at ways to adapt to new markets and we now offer machines capable of being fitted with lime spreaders, tankers, bowsers and all manner of attachments for new niche markets.”

Hydrema employs a dedicated team of people at its UK head office in North Yorkshire from where they offer service and spares support nationwide. The office is also home to new and used machine stock.
