Hyundai Construction Equipment has launched de-tiering kits that allow Hyundai dealers to adjust their machines for markets with less stringent emission regulations and high-sulphur fuel restrictions. The South Korean manufacturer recently launched its all-new Stage IV excavator and wheeled loader line-up that comply with the latest emission regulations and are said to be up to 10% more fuel-efficient. Preceding the new HX excavators and HL wheeled loaders were the Stage III B Hyundai 9A-series. For these earlier Hyundai models the manufacturer has introduced de-tiering kits or sulphur tolerance kits.
These engine conversion kits allow Hyundai dealers to de-tier machines prior to shipment to countries outside Europe and the US. De-tiering a machine’s engine means automatic emission decertification.
