In 2014, cement sales in Indonesia increased by 3.3% to 59.9 million tonnes, based on the Indonesian Cement Association (ASI)'s data. That figure is lower than targeted, as a result of uncertainty amid legislative and presidential elections. The target sales growth for 2014 had been at 3.5%-4%.

According to ASI’s chairman Widodo Santoso, Indonesia’s cement consumption is still the highest among other countries that are part of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
He said growth in local cement consumption can improve to 5%-6% if the new government is able to accelerate infrastructure projects.
