It will produce approximately 8% of Israel’s total electric power production capacity at prices competitive with Israel Electric Corporation, the country’s state-owned power system.
Cemex has modified the concrete supplied for the project to satisfy regional climatic conditions, work practices and local cement characteristics. The plant’s proximity to the sea means the company used special admixtures to improve waterproofing, durability and resistance to marine environments. One of the types of concrete that Cemex supplied to meet the project’s specialised needs is Eco-Betonal, a self-compacting concrete.
“Eco-Betonal provides especially high durability and self-healing properties, offering previously unknown levels of enveloping and adhering to steel. Because of its sustainable qualities,” says Cemex.
