At the Hillhead show, which is to be held near Buxton, England (24-26 June, 2014), John Deere Power Systems (JDPS) says it will be showcasing its Final Tier 4/Stage IV engines for the most demanding off-highway applications.

The company says that its UK distributor E.P.Barrus will display a 9litre FT4 engine; 6.8litre FT4 engine; JDPS FT4 Integrated Emissions Control System elements, and a 4.5litre GSPU Stage III A engine.

JDPA says that for the Final Tier 4/Stage IV, John Deere adopted the best available engine technologies to enhance the customer experience while meeting the more stringent emissions regulations. John Deere Integrated Emissions Control system technology configurations are tailored to meet Final Tier 4/Stage IV emissions regulations and customer needs in each power range.

“We’ve ensured a reliable Final Tier 4 solution through 60 million Interim Tier 4 field hours and more than 500,000 hours of Final Tier 4 testing,” says John Piasecki, director of worldwide marketing, sales and customer support for JDPS.

“And the total diesel fuel and DEF consumption with our Final Tier 4 engines is generally expected to be lower than diesel fuel only consumption of our Interim Tier 4 engines.”

JDPS recently reached two new milestones in the transition to Final Tier 4. The PowerTechTM EWX 4.5L engine was certified as compliant with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Final Tier 4 and California Air Resources Board emissions regulations. The 55kW model is the first John Deere Final Tier 4 engine below 56kW to achieve Final Tier 4 certification, confirming customer confidence in John Deere Integrated Emissions Control system technology. John Deere also recently started production of its larger displacement Final Tier 4/Stage IV engines, models meeting emissions regulations that took effect 1 January, 2014, for engines 130kW and above.
