John Deere Power Systems has unveiled its line-up of Stage V-ready engines to meet the recently implemented European Union (EU) Stage V emissions regulations. Leveraging new catalyst technologies, emissions control calibrations and next generation after-treatment solutions, John Deere PowerTech says its engines will deliver greater package flexibility and offer easier installation over previous John Deere engines.

The company says the line-up, which includes engine displacements of 2.9litres, 4.5litres, 6.8litres, 9litres and 13.5litres with ratings of 36-448kW, is optimised for increased torque response, low-speed torque, fluid efficiency, and provides responsive power at higher altitudes.

“John Deere is committed to helping OEMs through every step of the application process,” says Martin Ryley, manager, marketing services and sales engineering Europe, Africa and Middle East at John Deere Power Systems.

“We are well positioned to transfer our experience from various applications and operating conditions directly to our customers, giving them peace of mind. OEMs, regardless of location, are best served through timely and strategic preparation, and John Deere is ready to help them identify and implement the best solutions for their business.”

John Deere says it achieved reduced package sizes with next generation after-treatment solutions that provide up to a 39% reduction in size and 57% reduction in weight.

Ryley says that to achieve Stage V emissions levels for engines in the 19kW-560kW power band, manufacturers will have to use DPF technology.
