Athi River Mining Cement (ARM) of Kenya has received approval from the government to establish a cement plant costing KES 25 billion (€212.06 million/US$284.25 million) in Kitui town, and the project is expected to create 2,000 direct jobs and 1,500 indirect jobs. The plant will be located in Mbui village and it is 3km away from the Ngaae Hill that has limestone deposit that covers over 1,400 hectares.
