Finning, the leading provider of Caterpillar equipment in the UK and Ireland, has appointed Kevin Parkes as director of its equipment solutions division.

Parkes will re-join Finning after spending four years as chief executive of Hewden. In his new role, he will be responsible for driving forward the equipment solutions division, increasing market population for both Caterpillar and Komptech mobile plant and equipment.

In addition to equipment sales and service, Parkes will oversee the continuous development of cutting edge technology services and through the Finning Managed Services team, expand on the delivery of bespoke integrated customer solutions.

Commenting on his return to Finning, Parkes said: “A lot has changed over the last four years since I worked with Finning. But from my experience as a customer of the business, I know how important it is to listen to the market and develop solutions that can help our customers become more profitable. With the widest product range and service offering in the UK and Ireland, from our compact dealers to our mining operations, I believe Finning has a real opportunity to grow the business and support more customers, in what is a highly competitive market.”

Prior to joining Hewden, Parkes spent 13 years working with Finning in the UK, undertaking a range of roles in its equipment solutions division. “The appointment of Kevin is extremely significant to our Equipment Solutions Division, as Kevin understands our culture and has proven leadership skills,” said Finning MD Neil Dickinson. “He has steered the Hewden business through a wide range of transformational changes, all focused on serving the customer and we look forward to Kevin bringing that same customer focus and experience to Finning.”
