Kohler has introduced Engines CheckApp, a smartphone application for the monitoring and maintenance of its engines and which also features a digital shop for Kohler spare parts.
The shop is currently only available for users in Europe, but the off-road engine manufacturer says other regions will be included gradually over the next few years.
The company says that remote service and support are critical in the relationship with its end users. “We want to increase the level of support we provide and, considering that we manufacture high-tech products, we are called upon providing the same level of technology in aftermarket services,” the company said in a statement.
The CheckApp provides the end user with a number of engine management features including the ability to register an unlimited number of engines to keep track of the operator’s entire Kohler engines fleet. The company says this makes the app very advantageous both for end users and hire companies.
For each engine entered, the app creates a general overview of the engine’s condition, which provides its characteristics and documentation, including video tutorials which show how to replace spare parts and use and maintenance handbooks, thus creating a direct channel to Kohler’s official documentation.
The app also offers a digital shop of genuine spare parts that can be visualised and purchased through the closest authorised dealers, directly from the app.
