The World Concrete Forum has published its World Concrete 500 - a list of the top 500 players on Twitter from the international cement and concrete industry. French cement giant Lafarge (@LafargeGroup) takes the number one spot, with Colombia’s Cementos Argos (@Cementos_Argos) achieving second place. “Congratulations to Lafarge on heading the first listing of the World Concrete 500. Their work has been outstanding in recent months,” said Martin Clarke, director of the World Concrete Forum.

The World Concrete Forum has published its World Concrete 500 – a list of the top 500 players on Twitter from the international cement and concrete industry.

“Also good to see Argos, the Colombia based international cement and concrete group at number 2 – the top ten on the list all have an international outreach.

“I hope the list will be a useful tool for the industry and its supply chains. It should help to encourage all stakeholders around the world to improve their communications in the new media where construction has lagged behind other industries”.

The league table features construction materials manufacturers, suppliers, trade publications, associations, consultants, sector campaigners and more. The ranking is updated every week using the ‘Leaderboard system’, which considers factors such as interactions and influence using metrics from Klout.

The World Concrete Forum is a developing project run by ClarkeConsult, which aims to improve safety, sustainability and the pace of innovation in the global concrete industry. The information is curated and managed by Jim McClelland @SustMeme, in association with the World Concrete Forum, @WorldConcreteF and @WorldPrecast.
