Lafarge, which has been present in Algeria for a decade and which employs some 2,600 staff in the country and as many permanent sub-contractors, is aiming to innovate in terms of products and solutions to contribute to building better cities.
The group is to build a third cement works in Biskra, in partnership with a private Algerian company. Construction is set to start in the first quarter of 2014 for completion by 2016.
Lafarge is also investing in new ready-mix concrete capacities in Algeria to better serve the domestic construction market.
