As part of its strategy to sell non-strategic assets worth € 500 million in 2010, Lafarge has sold assets worth €120 million in France, Switzerland and Portugal, the French building materials group announced.The group sold its aggregates and concrete activities in Alsace (France) and Switzerland.Holcim of Switzerland will buy the four ready-mix concrete plants and Holcim’s French subsidiary and Eiffage TP will buy the four Alsace-based units as well as eight quarries in this French region.Lafarge also sold its entire aggregates and concrete activity in Portugal (29 ready-mix concrete plants and four aggregates quarries) to local construction company Secil, in a deal subject to approval from local antitrust authorities.
