Materials provider LafargeHolcim has been appointed as the exclusive concrete and cement supplier for the Bogotá-Villavicencio road infrastructure project in Colombia.
The new route will make the journey from Villavicencio to the Colombian capital Bogotá three times faster. It is estimated that the travel time will be reduced by 66%, from the current four hours to just over an hour.
To improve the connection to Bogotá and improve the economic growth of the Villavicencio region, the National Infrastructure Agency launched the Bogotá-Villavicencio road infrastructure project in 2015.
The double-lane project is one of the major infrastructure projects currently under development in Colombia, linking the capital to the plains of Los Llanos to the southeast.
Holcim Colombia says it was chosen for its technical expertise, the possibility of customising products, the reliability provided by an international company and above all its proximity and business relationship.
