Loesche supplies raw material grinding plant to Lafarge

German conglomerate Loesche is supplying a raw material grinding plant to the Lafarge cement production facility in Mannersdorf, Austria.

LafargeHolcim-owned Lafarge Zementwerke has already carried out extensive recent modernisations at the Mannersdorf plant, such as ensuring that the entire pyro-process meets the latest standards and that alternative fuels are being successfully used.

With these measures now in place, LafargeHolcim is concentrating on the modernisation of raw material preparation. A particular challenge here is the raw material, which has a relatively high proportion of metals that must be removed during the raw material processing.

Loesche won the contract in December 2020, and the delivery time for the grinding plant will be 14.5 months.

The contract includes the full construction and installation of a Loesche mill type LM 45.4, a Loesche classifier type LSKS, rotary feeder, magnetic separator, conveyor, two Hurriclons, mill fan and the Digital Ready 4.0 package.

Loesche subsidiaries kingsblue and aixprocess are responsible for the digitalisation products and its A TEC subsidiary is supplying the Hurriclons. A TEC has already been able to carry out several modernisation measures in Mannersdorf in the past and can look back on a successful cooperation with LafargeHolcim.

Lafarge Zementwerke operates two Austrian cement plants in Mannersdorf and Retznei with an annual capacity of approximately 1.6 million tons of cement.
