Longcliffe Quarries has strengthened its team with the addition of agronomist Mark Tripney.
“We are pleased to welcome Mark to our team. With our agricultural product range becoming increasingly important, his expertise will enhance the service we are able to offer customers, particularly around the use of our lime products for enhanced soil performance,” Longcliffe commercial director Darren Mooney said.
Tripney has joined Longcliffe as a consultant, focusing on supporting farming and industry customers with soil and nutrient management and the company’s growing agricultural products portfolio. Agricultural lime has been a key part of Longcliffe’s business since 1927, with Longcliffe’s Derbyshire quarries known for their high purity.
“I am delighted to join the team at Longcliffe at an exciting time for its agricultural products business,” Tripney said.
“My work focuses on how farmers can use agricultural lime and calcium-based products to improve crop and grassland production and soil health by studying soil, nutrients and crop growth. This enables plans to be formulated to advise on areas like boosting crops sustainably and pest and disease control.”
