Lyndon Thomas, based in Northampton in the UK, has taken delivery of eight new Doosan DA30-5 articulated dump trucks (ADTs), the biggest single order for Doosan trucks in the UK, for use in projects across the country.

Lyndon Thomas, based in Northampton in the UK, has taken delivery of eight new Doosan DA30-5 articulated dump trucks (ADTs), the biggest single order for Doosan trucks in the UK, for use in projects across the country.

Established in 2010, Lyndon Thomas offers a range of services including earthmoving, contract crushing and screening, plant hire, demolition and distribution of all types of aggregate.

The new Doosan Stage IV trucks were purchased along with a new Doosan 30tonne DX300LC-5 Stage IV crawler excavator from Murley Construction, the Doosan dealer for the counties of West Midlands, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Staffordshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Cambridgeshire.

The new order for Doosan ADTs confirms Lyndon Thomas as the owner of the largest fleet of dump trucks in the East Midlands area.

“More than a dozen of our operators worked the Doosan ADT very hard over the 4-5 weeks we had the machine and they were all impressed with the traction, power and general performance available,” says company owner, Lyndon Thomas.

“Reliability was also very good as our operators tried to push the machine to its limits: I think this is a facet of the rugged simplicity of the Doosan ADT design which means less can go wrong. The same can be said of the new Doosan DX300LC-5 excavator which we have bought and which has also performed excellently.”

The Doosan DA30-5 is powered by the Scania DC9 276kW diesel engine, meeting the Stage IV/Tier 4 Final emission regulations through the use of both Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) technologies, with an electronic engine brake system, one of four brake systems on the trucks.

Doosan’s Stage IV/Tier 4 Final ADTs do not need a diesel particle filter (DPF) to meet the emission regulations.
