Italy-based MB Crusher used its presence at this month’s SaMoTer construction and quarrying equipment show in Verona (May 6-9) to look back over its 25 years of success in crusher bucket manufacturing.
The company was established by the Azzolin brothers. Raised among construction sites and excavators, they faced a problem: how to manage all the waste produced on site. Every job left behind tonnes of inert material to dispose of – and disposal was costly.
The idea came almost by subtraction: the excavator was already there. All that was needed was a bucket that could do more than dig – it had to crush as well. A crusher bucket.
And so Meccanica Breganzese srl was born, a name that reflects its roots in Breganze, in the province of Vicenza, where their father Carlo had been building the town’s first road connections since the 1950s.
2002 – The first MB Crusher bucket takes shape – both in concept and in steel: the BF90.3, designed for the excavators the brothers used on site.
2005 – The first site photos, and first presence at Samoter.
2006 – First equipment shipped overseas. Destination: United Arab Emirates. A BF120.4 crusher bucket is loaded onto a ship and reaches a residential construction site in the United Arab Emirates.
2007 – MB Crusher wins first prize at the Grand Prix of the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva. That same year, the first foreign branch opens: MB France Sarl is established.
2008 – Building 1,635 homes for the US Army – MB Crusher’s crusher buckets manage demolition materials, crush on site, reduce truck journeys, and cut disposal costs.
2009 – MB Crusher units are at work along one of the first motorways connecting Hyderabad to Bangalore, in India. A vast project in a country building at a rapid pace.
The company also transforms: from an srl to a joint-stock company. The organisation grows, production increases. The German branch, MB Deutschland GmbH, opens. The MB-S screening bucket range is also launched.
2010 – In Johannesburg, South Africa, MB crusher buckets are at work on the Soccer City Stadium site. Chosen by Liviero Civils, the MB units manage the inert material waste produced during construction.
In the same year, MB lands in Japan: the MB Japan branch opens, and a crusher bucket operates on the Tokyo underground construction site.
2011 – Expansion into two vast and very different markets. The Indian branch MB Crusher India Pvt. Ltd. opens, along with the American branch MB America, Inc. Meanwhile, in Forlì, Italy, a company chooses an MB crusher bucket to work independently and secure new contracts.
2012 – MB Shanghai opens. The MB-L range is also introduced – the first crusher buckets designed for loaders, skid steers, and backhoe loaders: more compact machines, the same cost-saving logic.
2013 – A new addition to the range: the MB-R drum cutter line is introduced.
And in Morocco, a company selects 7 screening buckets and 2 crusher buckets for one of the largest infrastructure projects in the region: motorways, industrial buildings, and pipelines. In particular 250 km of pipeline works, where road base material is recovered mdirectly on site thanks to screening buckets.
2014 – The company moves to its new headquarters in Fara Vicentino, just a few kilometres from its original offices. The connection to its roots remains strong. 45,000 square metres of space, research and design labs, production departments, sales and administrative offices. Over 250 people at work. Every piece of
equipment is created here and shipped worldwide.
In the same year, MB units are at work in Brazil for theFIFA World Cup 2014, specifically at the Arena Pernambuco stadium.
The MB-G range is also introduced: sorting grapples.
2015 – MB Crusher goes to one of the most remote and fascinating places in the Caribbean: the islands of Saint Kitts and Nevis. Here, MB units work to protect the natural environment.
The new MB-LS range of screening buckets is also launched, designed for loaders, skid steers, and backhoe loaders.
2016 – The Brazilian branch MB Crusher Do Brasil opens. It is also the year MB equipment operates across three distant yet equally demanding sites.
In Azerbaijan, a fleet of 13 screening buckets works on the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP), transporting gas from Azerbaijan to Turkey.
In Saudi Arabia, MB equipment produces material for the Riyadh metro construction sites—one of the Middle East’s most ambitious infrastructure projects.
2017 – MB Crusher operates in the historic centre of Bavaria, Germany. An urban site where the compactness of the bucket—no mobile crushers to move, no fixed plants to install -m makes all the difference.
On the other side of the world, in Djibouti, the BF120.4 crushes basalt for the DIFTZ, the Djibouti International Free Trade Zone. Extremely hard rock, extreme climate.
2018 – In Valencia, Spain, a coastal maintenance company uses an MB-S14 screening bucket to clean 9 km of beaches, separating sand from vegetation and waste. The natural material is reused in a local park.
In Dresden, Germany, work is needed to remove concrete filling the arches of the historic Augustus Bridge over the Elbe, causing structural issues. The client requires a solution that will not damage the 18th-century structure- and finds it in the MB-R800 drum cutter.
Ahead of time, MB Crusher also begins work in Qatar, preparing for the FIFA World Cup 2022. This marks its World Cup hat-trick: South Africa 2010, Brazil 2014, Qatar 2022.
2019 – MB Crusher reaches Patagonia, Argentina, at the Vaca Muerta site – one of the largest oil fields in the world, in a remote and challenging environment where equipment must perform under extreme conditions and difficult logistics.
In Corsica, MB Crusher operates on a site balanced between land and sea: a delicate setting where the drum cutter machines more than three linear metres per day in a precarious position overlooking the water.
The MB-HDS line is introduced: shaft screening buckets.
2020 – MB Crusher opens the way at Bordeaux Mérignac Airport: material crushed on site, deadlines met, fewer lorries on the road. It also works on the construction of the new European Commission building, where sustainability and material recycling are not optional- they are essential.
In Réunion, an island in the Indian Ocean, a crusher bucket is used to redevelop an old sugar factory.
2021 – In Tabasco, Mexico, a BF80.3 crusher bucket demolishes a baseball stadium. Instead of being sent to landfill, the resulting material is crushed and reusedas embankment fill. A closed loop, a real saving.
In Spain, MB Crusher equipment is used on an archaeological museum site. Here, precision is everything, and the crusher bucket allows materials to be processed with the care such a context demands.
2022 – MB Crusher operates in Egypt on two fronts. In Cairo, MB Crusher equipment takes part in the construction of a new railway line: material processed on site, reduced timelines, and a lower environmental impact.
In Ain Sokhna, on the Red Sea, MB Crusher works on the expansion of the port: a strategic site for Egyptian trade, where reducing transport times also means reducing the carbon footprint.
2023 – An MB crusher bucket and a screening bucket are at work on the major European Investment Bank (EIB) construction site in Luxembourg.
In Egypt, MB Crusher opens a new road between oases: a connection in remote areas where transporting a fixed plant would be unthinkable. MB equipment travels with the excavator, reaching exactly where it is needed.
In India, six MB-R800 drum cutters operate with precision to line canal walls: a technical application where milling is the only viable solution.
2024 – The French company PUGNAT TP must build the platform for the new Grands Montets cable car at 3,300 metres on the French side of Mont Blanc, with no road access. The BF90.3 is dismantled in the workshop, transported in stages by helicopter, and reassembled at altitude by MB Crusher technicians.
In India, on the remote Kaza plateau in the Himalayas, six MB-L160 crusher buckets and one BF90.3 open a road in a setting where the margin for error is zero and logistics are everything.
In Italy, in the province of Padua, Mr Ivanovic builds 52 metres of dry-stone wall in four days using a sorting grapple: a result that blends craftsmanship and technology in a way that is hard to explain but easy to see.
Indonesian branch, PT MB Indonesia, is established.
2025 – In Basilicata, in Matera, with the urban redevelopment of the Intergenerational Park in Piazza della Visitazione and Piazza Matteotti, funded by regional and local authorities and carried out by Trezza srl. A BF90.3 crusher bucket speeds up the reuse of demolition materials.
MB Crusher also reaches the French Riviera: ATV Terrassement Nicolino & Fils carries out demolition work along one of Europe’s most exclusive coastlines, with the BF60.1 crushing materials and the MB-S14 separating them for reuse.
Towards the end of 2025, high-altitude construction sites are underway in Bormio and Arabba for the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. MB Crusher equipment operates directly on site, reducing transport and meeting the tight constraints of mountain environments.
The new PT pulverizers range is introduced in 2025.
2026 – In France, an MB-PT1650 demolition grab operates with surgical precision on a demolition site.
In Egypt, a customer installs a crusher bucket on an excavator to break down rock and facilitate gold extraction, avoiding the costs of a traditional crusher. It processes around 25 m³ per hour and, thanks to the results, the customer goes on to purchase seven more units.
In Riyadh, excavated material becomes a resource: MB Crusher buckets process it on site, without transport, turning it into reusable aggregate for the same project.
In Venezuela, MB Crusher connects remote communities by building roads in areas where traditional logistics cannot reach.
MB Crusher concludes: “The thread is always the same: a simple idea, born in a workshop in Vicenza, that solved a real problem.”
