Metso has revealed its new appointment to take over the key role of chief financial officer.
Pasi Kyckling will take over as the company’s chief financial officer and a member of Metso’s leadership team by at least July 2025.
The announcement comes after the company confirmed that the current chief financial officer, Eeva Sipilä, will depart by April at the latest to take on another opportunity.
“We warmly welcome Pasi to Metso, and I am convinced that his diverse experience and expertise will play a significant role in Metso’s development, growth, and value creation,” said Metso’s president and chief executive officer, Sami Takaluoma.
Kyckling has a master’s degree in economics and has served as the chief financial officer and group transformation officer at Stora Enso. He worked in several other finance, strategy and IT-related leadership roles during his time there.
“I am excited about this opportunity to join Metso, which is known as a leading company in its field and has interesting opportunities ahead. I look forward to working with my new colleagues to develop not only all areas of Metso’s financial management but also the company’s strategy and future direction towards even greater success,” Kyckling said.
Last year, it was announced that Sipilä will start at Neste no later than 1 May 2025 as the company’s new chief financial officer. Neste is a major global producer of sustainable fuels and renewable feedstock solutions for various polymers and chemical industry uses.
“I’m delighted to welcome Eeva to Neste. She has an exceptional track record from many demanding positions and as a current Board member, she already knows Neste and its business environment. I wish Eeva the best of luck at Neste,” said Heikki Malinen, Neste’s president and chief executive officer.
