Metso celebrated the inauguration of its new screen centre in Germiston, Johannesburg, South Africa, on 16th January with customers and other key stakeholders. The new facility developed on an assembly test and paint basis will significantly increase Metso’s supply and delivery capabilities of screening solutions.
“Global technologies adapted for local manufacturing will provide competitive screening solutions for our African customers, ensuring the best-in-class return on investment. Our aim is to keep the customer in the centre with a complete screening solution right on the customer’s doorstep,” says Ian Barnard, president of the Metso Africa market area.
“The local development is in line with Metso Screening’s regional strategy and targets of being closer to the customer to develop a market-focused approach for Africa. To do this, we have added skilled personnel in engineering, sourcing, key account management, and technical support.
