Metso has opened its new Pittsburgh office in a move it says will enhance its capabilities in bulk materials handling and port solutions.
The new office includes nearly 20 specialists with plans to increase the team in the future as well as provide opportunities for local graduates from nearby institutions including University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University and Duquesne University.
“We are really excited to strengthen our regional capabilities in our strategic journey to deliver world-class bulk material handling and port solution offerings closer to our customers,” Metso vice president for bulk material handling solutions Sushanta Dutta said.
“Each installed unit represents a strategic touchpoint, an opportunity to deepen customer relationships, provide lifecycle services, and apply our proprietary technologies to drive ongoing value.
“North America, in particular, boasts a very strong installed base, which further enables our new team to support customers effectively across the region. Our goal is to deliver industry-leading with service at the local and global scale.”
Metso senior vice president for grinding, bulk, pyro and smelting services Jonathan Allen said the new office would expand the company’s presence in the US.
“The opening of our Pittsburgh office demonstrates Metso’s commitment to supporting North American customers by providing advanced solutions for bulk material handling and port operations,” he said.
“By integrating regional experience with leading-edge expertise, Metso seeks to drive innovation and uphold the highest standards of reliability and service within the industry.”
