Metso has confirmed plans to expand its presence in Romania with a new screen manufacturing centre.
The investment will expand its production capabilities of stationary screens with a new centre in Oradea, Romania. This will ensure Metso can support customers in Europe, Central East Asia, and the Middle East with capital screening equipment and supply of wear and spare parts including rubber screening media.
Metso expects to employ 70 to 80 people by the time the site is fully operational by the end of 2026.
“This investment is a continuation of our regional strategy implementation,” Metso vice president of the screening business line Jouni Mähönen said.
“A new center in Romania will improve responsiveness to meet customer needs, answer to growing demand in growth markets, and strengthen our ability to deliver tailored screening solutions efficiently.”
The new centre will enhance Metso’s customer proximity and service levels in a region that the company says is seeing growing demand for screening solutions and services in both the minerals and the aggregates segments.
The Oradea facility in Romania will complement Metso’s existing stationary screen equipment production footprint in France, Brazil, India, South Africa and China.
“Customer proximity is at the heart of our service philosophy,” Metso vice president of the central region screening business line Adrian Wood said.
“Through this investment, we enhance our ability to serve customers by being faster and efficient. We will be able to be more flexible allowing us to meet regional specifications and needs, while also ensuring strong service capabilities through integrated screening media production.”
Metso’s screen solutions includes UFS Series (Ultra Fine Screen), EF Series (Ellipti-Flo) and BSE Series (Banana Screen Elliptical) screens as part of the Metso Plus offering, and horizontal screens, inclined screens, mobile screens, portable screens, and ultrafine screens.
