Ascendum Máquinas has become the new distributor for Metso Outotec’s aggregate crushing and screening solutions in Portugal and Angola.

As of April 2021, Metso Outotec’s aggregate equipment, crusher wear parts and spare parts are available through Ascendum in the two countries. In addition to equipment and parts, the contract includes service, commissioning, and technical support.

The equipment covered by the contract are Metso Outotec’s Lokotrack and Nordtrack track-mounted crushing and screening units, NW Series portable crushing and screening units, as well as stationary screens and crushers. Ascendum Máquinas has four branches in Portugal, and a dealer in Angola to be announced later.

Metso Outotec says it expects the contract with Ascendum to strengthen its presence in the countries by improving service levels through local support, parts, and equipment supply. It adds that Ascendum is well-known by construction customers, and it foresees good opportunities to develop especially mobile and portable equipment business in the construction sector with Ascendum’s dedicated local resources.

“Our aim is to be the preferred choice for aggregate crushing and screening solutions,” said Olli-Pekka Oksanen, senior vice president, global distribution management at Metso Outotec. “With Ascendum, we expect to be close to the customers and agile in serving their needs. Our premium brand coupled with their local presence and aftermarket expertise is a strong package.”

José Luis Mendes, CEO of Ascendum Máquinas in Portugal, commented: “We welcome Metso Outotec to our portfolio of leading brands and are very happy to be able to widen our offering to our existing clientele. Most of the Metso Outotec customers are common to Ascendum, and our wide coverage is a great benefit for them.”
