Metso Outotec has begun employee cooperation negotiations related to organisational restructuring following the merger of Metso's Minerals business and Outotec on 1 July 2020.
The majority of the new company’s Finland-based personnel, approximately 2,400 employees, are in the scope of the negotiations. The estimated reduction need of the planned reorganisation is a maximum of 280 employees, and the impact of the restructuring on different employee groups is expected to be determined in September 2020.
No personnel effects are expected in Outotec Turula; Outotec (Ceramics); and Outotec (Filters) operations and in Metso Minerals’ Aggregates business.
Similar negotiation processes related to building a new organisation in accordance with local processes and schedules are planned in other countries where Metso Outotec operates.
Metso Outotec says the organisational restructuring aims to create a business model that supports efficient trading operations, and allows the new company to respond effectively to customer needs, reduce overlaps of the two previous organisations and meet synergy targets.
