Metso has signed a contract with Camargo Correa and Hydrologic Company to supply equipment to the new crushing and screening plant in Venezuela.

The new plant is part of the TUY-IV project, which includes the construction of a dam to supply water to the capital Caracas.

The project will be built in the northern part of the Acevedo Municipality of Miranda State in Venezuela, and in addition to equipment, the contract includes supervision services. The value of the order is some €10 million.

According to the contract, Metso will supply a complete stationary crushing and screening plant as well as spare parts and automation systems. The contract also includes assembly supervision.

“This contract is added validation of the successful collaboration between Metso and Camargo Corrêa. It is worth noting that this project is unprecedented since the crushing plant supplied by Metso will be also fully automated by Metso,” notes Dionísio Covolo, commercial director for construction equipment, Metso.

Delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2012 and the project start-up is expected to occur in the same year. The delivery has been included in Metso Mining and Construction fourth quarter 2011 orders received.

The complete order comprises two C140 jaw crushers; two HP4 cone crushers; a HP400 cone crusher; TS2.2 and Vibraline 60″x72″ screens; two TS5.2 screens; two TS6.2 screens; two Barmac vertical shaft impactors; three belt feeders; a structure for  stationary crushing plant for HP400 cone crusher, and several belt conveyors. The nominal production capacity of the plant will be 800tonnes/hour.
