AB R&S Sundvik, a Finnish crushing contractor, is one of the first in the world to use Metso’s newest jaw crusher model, Nordberg C120. AB R&S Sundvik, a Finnish crushing contractor, is one of the first in the world to use Metso’s newest jaw crusher model, Nordberg C120.

After more than 4,000 working hours and over 500,000tonnes of crushed materials, the family company says it has found the C120 a highly reliable and productive tool.

“The long and well-designed cavity combined with a large feed opening seems to guarantee steady and high productivity.

Within our operations, we have never aimed for short, high peaks but a steady, continuous production that really makes for visible results,” says Stefan Sundvik who is responsible for Sundvik’s crushing operations.

“The C120 cavity is also very well suited to crushing fragmented feed materials. Even difficult feed doesn’t block the cavity.

Therefore, we hardly need to use our hammer.”

Sundvik’s three-stage portable crushing plant is kept running for two eight-hour shifts per day and the C120 jaw is usually operated with a 100–150mm closed side setting, resulting in a capacity of 250–300tonnes/hour.

Sundvik has been a Metso customer for some 30 years, and it started its crushing contracting in the 1980s with Metso’s MK90 jaw crusher and then it bought a C125 jaw, G15 cone and Lokotrack models LT110 and LT1200.

The present portable plants include, in addition to the new C120 jaw crusher, a C125 jaw, G2215 and GP550 cones.
