Heavy-duty rock trommel and conveyor manufacturer MDS has appointed Mineralteknikk as its official distributor for Norway.

Northern Ireland-based MDS says Mineralteknikk has supplied quality products to the crushing and screening industry in Norway for more than 20 years. With offices in Ålgård, Drammen and Kirkenes, Mineralteknikk has a team of skilled professionals who have a high expertise in crushing and screening in Norwegian conditions and are equipped to provide support throughout the country. The team provides customers with full commissioning assistance and carefully go through safety, emergency stop, operation, daily routines, as well as training upon handover.

Mineralteknikk general manager Arne Kenneth Øvstebø commented: “As the sole distributor for Finlay and Terex Washing Systems in Norway, we have built up valuable knowledge and expertise in the crushing and screening industry, which will benefit our partnership with MDS. We are very confident that our employees will contribute towards a positive boost for MDS in the Norwegian market.”

The range of MDS machines supplied by Mineralteknikk will focus on mobile and stationary models.

Øvstebø added: “At Mineralteknikk AS we work with our customers to operate their equipment efficiently and reach maximum capacity. This is something that requires expertise and competence at an extremely high level. We feel that this, along with the addition of MDS range of equipment to our portfolio will enhance our complete offering.

“What is particularly impressive is that MDS has developed a drum sieve that can handle stones up to a meter in diameter. Additionally, with the government’s investment in offshore wind turbines going forward, MDS will become a very relevant product as it can be used to produce Armour Rock for offshore wind turbine construction in a cost-effective, efficient manner, compared to traditional methods.”

Ian Todd, MDS sales manager said: “We want to extend a warm welcome to the team at Mineralteknikk from everyone at MDS. Mineralteknikk has a strong reputation throughout Norway for providing excellent products and service to their customers. I am looking forward to working closely with their entire team to build and develop the MDS brand in this region.”
