Sponsored by Industrial Diagnostics Company, the theme of this year’s event is ‘Inspirational & Effective Leadership’. BBC presenter, Sybil Ruscoe, was due to host proceedings which were taking place at 30 Euston Square in central London.

Speakers at this year’s gathering were due to include Simon Vivian, Chairman MPA; Jesus Ortiz, European Aggregates Association President; Martin Whitmarsh, Former CEO of McLaren F1 Racing, now CEO of the Land Rover BAR America’s Cup Team; Martin Brown, Crossrail Health & Safety Director; Darren Broadhead, Darren Broadhead Consulting Ltd Senior Consultant; Rory Graham, IM&S Solutions Ltd Senior Consultant; and Glenn Rowe, Arbour Safety Management Ltd Senior Consultant.
The MPA Health & Safety Conference and Awards 2016 was also due to include two panel sessions – one on Inspirational Leadership for Major Projects from UK infrastructure; and the titled ‘Safer & Healthier by Leadership’. The latter session was due to be chaired by Chris Leese, the MPA’s Health & Safety Committee Chairman, who was being joined by Darren Broadhead, Darren Broadhead Consulting Ltd; Rory Graham, IM&S Solutions Ltd; and Glenn Rowe, Arbour Safety Management Ltd, in launching and discussing the expected impact of the ‘Safer & Healthier by Leadership’ initiative on the UK mineral products sector.
The panel sessions were due to be followed by the presentation of the MPA Health & Safety Awards.
The MPA is the trade association for the UK aggregates, asphalt, cement, concrete, dimension stone, lime, mortar and silica sand industries.
