Completing the suite of documents and resources aimed at supporting members, the UK-based Mineral Products Association (MPA) is now launching its 'COVID-19 Operational Guidance' document, together with a series of posters to assist members in getting their locations COVID secure.

COVID-19 Operational Guidance

A more detailed publication aimed at directors and managers, this provides guidance on operating safely during the COVID-19 pandemic and offers links to shared members’ resources and essential sources of information and updates, including from Government and non-Government organisations. It complements the MPA Managers and Employees pocket guides that were launched last week.

Site Posters

Designed for download and use around operations, two poster types are available. Firstly, a series based around the MPA’s ’10 Rules of Engagement’ and employing the same graphics as in the Manager and Employees pocket guides. These are available in two forms, one with a cartoon and the key message or another with the cartoon, key message and additional information. Secondly, a series giving clear graphical instructions which can be used in addition to signage.

All documents are available on Safequarry.com and Safeprecast.com under ‘COVID-19 Updates’ and will be regularly reviewed and updated as new guidance and information emerge.

Nigel Jackson, MPA chief executive, said:“This third Guidance document and accompanying posters complete our new package of resources produced to assist our members and the wider industry adapt to becoming COVID secure. The package, conceived, developed and published in around three weeks reflects the ‘can do’ attitude of our members who are determined to play their part in rebuilding business confidence and boosting activity levels as the recovery gains momentum.

“It is crucial that construction, manufacturing and other key sectors can secure the essential mineral products supplies they need to plan with confidence and invest in the future. Government has said it is still committed to its plans to improve and expand our infrastructure throughout the UK, particularly in the regions, notwithstanding the impacts COVID is having on the economy, and we support that”.
