Delivering powerful performance, the Cat 325 excavator features easy-to-use standard technologies, including Cat Grade with 2D, Grade Assist, Lift Assist, and Payload, to help boost productivity by allowing operators to work accurately, efficiently, and quickly.

The machine’s long, heavy-duty undercarriage, featuring an oversized 203mm (8-inch) track pitch, is said to deliver outstanding stability and durability in harsh, uneven ground conditions, including site preparation, land clearing, and forestry applications. Equipping the 325 with the optional blade simplifies backfilling and helps keep the machine levelled when working on slopes.

Featuring a 7.5-tonne counterweight, the new configuration enhances balance and control even when equipped with attachments like a blade, Variable Angle Boom (VAB), heavy-duty stick, bucket thumbs, or quick coupler. The new configuration can be fitted with either Reach or VAB fronts, with or without a blade, and comes with a thumb-ready stick and quick coupler circuit preinstalled from the factory, reducing the need for aftermarket modifications. Stability equivalent to the 325 with an 8.3-tonne (18,300-lb) counterweight and standard undercarriage, its larger final drives increase drawbar pull to better climb grades, and higher swing torque maintains swing uphill capabilities.

“We are excited to launch the new 325 configuration,” says Adrian Grigorita, Caterpillar vice president of product management for medium hydraulic excavators. “Designed with our customers in mind, it supports heavier work tool combinations while delivering enhanced stability. The extended undercarriage and dedicated counterweight contribute to a solid, balanced platform, while increased drawbar pull and swing torque help improve performance on challenging terrain and slopes.”

When equipped with the latest HD configuration, the compact radius Cat 325 excavator delivers heavy-duty performance with unmatched versatility when working in tight spaces. It offers all the benefits expected by operators – factory-integrated technology to boost productivity, extended maintenance intervals to help keep operating costs low, and electrohydraulic efficiency for smooth, precise operation.

The excavator’s electro-hydraulic pump and main control valve work together to optimise power and efficiency for the 325, delivering the performance needed. By automatically adjusting engine power to match hydraulic demands, Smart Mode operation helps lower fuel consumption.

Longer fuel life, along with hydraulic oil and air filters for the 325, reduces the number of filters required over the machine’s life, delivering lower maintenance costs. No pilot or case drain filters result in fewer filters to replace over the machine’s service life, and ground-level engine oil level checks keep the operator safely on the ground when performing daily maintenance inspections.
