Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe)/ (HCME) has appointed a new dealer for its customers in Latvia. Repa SIA has taken over from the previous dealer Laadur OU.

Repa, a subsidiary of the MONO Group, one of the largest enterprises in Latvia and owner of companies specialising in highway engineering, transport and finance, was established in 1991 as a dealer for used construction equipment. Its head office is in Riga.

The Latvian construction market has grown significantly since 2010, with increases across all product categories including crawler and wheeled excavators and wheel loaders. The mini excavator market experienced the largest increase, and HMCE says that overall this market therefore provides “a great opportunity for HCME and its new dealer.”

Repa managing director Yuri Ivanov says: “We are delighted to be the official Hitachi construction machinery dealer for Latvia. The brand is well known in our country, but there is still huge potential to increase market share, particularly in the general construction, road construction and quarrying sectors.

“We have 21 years of experience in the industrial equipment market, so we will initially start by offering Hitachi products to our existing customers. Our future strategy involves participating in domestic trade shows and exhibitions, working directly with potential customers and supporting customers with used Hitachi equipment.”
