Marini launches XPRESS 2500 asphalt plant

Road constructors, facing a lack of new projects in home markets, have shown an increasing tendency to take part in tenders for new roadbuilding worldwide. For this reason there has been the preference to use easily transportable, tyre-mounted plants, capable of fitting into the most difficult of logistic situations, says Marini, which has introduced the new XPRESS 2500.

The batch plant with a production rate up to 200tonnes/hour, is tyre-mounted for easy transfer, and within the road transport limits (all 2.5m, with main trailer 3m), says Marini.

The plant can be assembled on compacted ground, and requires no special lifting equipment. Some operations are performed using a mechanical shovel, which can then feed the aggregates. The XPRESS 2500 has an incorporated hydraulic power unit, which means the entire plant can be lifted and positioned using hydraulic cylinders. The main frame semi-trailer on three axles, includes five selection screens plus direct discharge; aggregate metering unit and mixer (2,500kg/mix); filler and bitumen weigh metering; hot elevator and recovered fines screw conveyor hinged in centre; 90° rotation in work position, and a compressed air and control cabin.

The standard XPRESS 2500 model has a unit of five mobile cold feeders mounted on a two-axle semi-trailer, each 11m³, with the option of pre-fitting RAP (recycled asphalt pavement) feed and the support divider for the mechanical shovel.

The dryer drum (fitted with RAP feed ring), which can produce aggregates containing 3% moisture, is semi-trailer mounted on two axles while the burner and the connection channel to the bag filter are pre-assembled in the factory and ready for use. Various size dryers are available. The bag filter with over 660m² of filtering surface is mounted on a two-axle semi-trailer, and underneath is the storage bin for the hot recovered fines.
