The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) has confirmed the 474 Sand Mine of Cemex was the Platinum Award winner for Community Relations Excellence.

The awards recognise producers’ achievements through their involvement in their community to enhance the public’s perception of their business, their facility and our industry.
NSSGA CEO Michael Johnson says: “A strong relationship with our communities provides value to the facility and the citizens around it. I am pleased to congratulate the winners of the Community Relations Excellence Awards today. These awards allow us to celebrate those companies and their teams who build ties within their local communities that advance individuals’ knowledge about aggregates and the benefits that the industry provides to their neighbourhoods and the country as a whole.”
The NSSGA also awarded the National Stars of Excellence Awards, which is presented to an operation with multiple Gold Awards in Safety, Community Relations or Environmental Excellence within a five-year period.
In 2021, Cemex achieved this honour for its 424 Sand Mine 2021 Community Relations Excellence and 2018 Environmental Excellence Awards.
The company also received Two Stars of Excellence for its Brooksville Quarry’s 2021 Community Relations Excellence and 2021 Environmental Excellence Awards.
